Awardees are recognised for outstanding achievement at the time of selection. While a Good Food Award cannot be rescinded, continued promotion and listing on our platform depend on the ongoing fulfilment of the following standards:
1. Customer Satisfaction
- Businesses must maintain a strong and consistent record of positive customer feedback/online reviews/nominations/votes.
2. Food Hygiene Compliance
- Food hygiene ratings, as published on food.gov.uk, must remain at or above the prescribed threshold.
3. Official Branding
- All Good Food Awards branding such as assets, graphics, images, and merchandise – must be supplied by us directly.
- These materials must be used in accordance with the licensing agreement and must not be altered, repurposed, or combined with third-party endorsements.
4. Operational Continuity
- Awarded businesses must remain open to the public and actively trading. If temporary closures occur (e.g. for refurbishment or seasonal downtime), they must be communicated clearly and in advance.
5. Establishment Integrity
- To preserve transparency and reader trust, we reserve the right to delist any business if significant changes are deemed to materially alter the nature of the original awardee’s offering.
- Examples include:
- A significant overhaul of the menu
- Transfer of ownership
- Change in head chef or key culinary leadership
- Relocation to a different site
6. Editorial Discretion
- The Editor retains the right to remove any listing from our platform at their sole discretion. This includes – but is not limited to – instances where the business is no longer deemed to reflect the spirit of the Good Food Awards. All editorial decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
This Charter may be amended, updated, or withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
